I played qualifiers to reach the finals day and with 4 players remaining
in the competition I had every chance.
I was drawn against close friend and England International Liesa
Conlin. I knew it was going to be a battle and it was frame for frame
all the way until 7-7 where I managed to pinch the next 3 frames and
take the match 10-7 to book a place in the final.
My opponent in the Final was fellow Kent team mate Mel Clements.
It was the best of 19 to take the title and it took al 19 frames to
decide it. At 9-9 I desperately wanted to win this event and retain
my title for the 3rd year running and I knew I had to do something
special to defeat an on form Mel. After a few missed chances from
both sides, ilost control of the frame. Fortunately for me Mel failed
to get on her last ball and that allowed me to capitalise and clear
up to take my 3rd Kent Champion of Champion Title.
